St. John chief executive Glenn McMahon told WWD she “overshadowed the brand. We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette.”

“We needed to show a modern point of view of St. John. We are evolving the brand,” McMahon said in another statement.

St. John this week launched a new spring 2010 print advertising campaign featuring Elson, 30, a redhead who is married to White Stripes singer Jack White.

“I have always been somewhat allergic to all perfumes and really wanted to create something that every woman could wear,” said Longoria Parker.

“So I decided to create my own fragrance that is light, fresh and unique. I think the scent of a woman is extremely sexy and this scent will prove that.”

“Eva was involved from Day One with all aspects of the project,” said Jerome Falic, CEO of Duty Free Americas, parent company of Falic Fashion Group, in collaboration with whom the scent was developed.

“At the end of the day, it’s about Eva. She wanted something different, so we designed quite a few different [versions].”

“I never knew how complicated it was to create a unique scent that hasn’t already been done,” Longoria Parker added.

“But I enjoyed the process.”

The 1.7 oz bottle will carry a tag of $45, while the 3.4 oz bottle will be $58, and will top retailers such as as Macy’s and Dillard’s.

Natalia, 27, is set to go on a roll, come Spring 2010. For one, she’s replacing supermodel Christy Turlington as the face of YSL, while also appearing in Givenchy’s ads for the next season’s campaign.

Meanwhile, she was approached by Stella McCartney, who was impressed by the Russian in a September catwalk, to represent the stylish British brand.

And all while she continues with her current assignments with Guerlain and posing for Calvin Klein underwear… quite a busy time ahead for the lovely-looking mother of two!

Keys, 28, has collaborated with Canadian designer Gisele Theriault in a jewelry line called “The Barber’s Daughters” which features silver and gemstone pieces with quotes and poetry from iconic figures such as Gandhi, Buddha and Shakespeare.

Industry sources said that one of the items, a sterling silver cuff, is inscribed with words of wisdom from the singer herself. That’s amazing… come to think of it, everyone, literally everyone has their set of inspiring quotes, so I’m kind of curious what could be Keys’ keys.

“There’s a gorgeous cuff, it’s so beautiful, and it says ‘I am a superwoman!’,” said a delighted Keys after launching the collection in New York this week.

Apparently for Keys, the progression from putting words with music, to inscribing jewelry, was natural.

“As a lyricist I love words and I love things that kind of … hit you so hard to the heart,” Keys said.

“I realised that this was another way to reach out to people and to really bring them inspiration in some way. If people tell me how much they love my music because it’s gotten them though a certain time in their life, I felt like this was an extension of music.”

The jewelry and accessories range from necklaces and earrings, to watches, cuffs and bracelets. The prices start from to ,500.

“My favourite part about them was not only were they individual, one of a kind, something you would really cherish and hold but the words on them affected me so personally, they uplifted me, it made me feel good, want to hold it and wear it like a mantra,” Keys said.

Meanwhile, “The Element of Freedom,” Keys’ new album is set for a December 15 release… though the ‘inspirational doesn’t go on sale until 2010.

Alicia Keys is Vitamin Water Woman

The Hollywood couple has been working for more than a year to produce a snake-inspired collection of gold jewelry and silver accessories called The Protector, said a report in WWD.

The line, which includes fine jeweled bracelets, rings, earrings and pendants, features a snake motif, one that Asprey said Jolie chose for its symbolism as an iconic guardian, particularly over family protection and fertility.

Jolie, 34, was inspired a snake ring given to her while she was pregnant with her daughter Shiloh. Since then, the symbol apparently became a family protection icon to the Jolie-Pitts.

Prices start at 5 for a silver baby spoon with a curving, serpent-shaped handle. Accessories include silver baby gifts, pendants and gold and diamond rings.

The jewelry collection has hit the retailers in Asprey stores in London, New York, Beverly Hills, Tokyo and Dubai.

Net proceeds will go to the non-profit Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, co-founded by Jolie in 2006 aimed at raising awareness and funds to educate child victims of war, conflict and natural disasters.

“These are the children who most need a safe place to learn, a place to heal, a place to learn reconciliation, a place to build a better future and a place — to just be children,” said Jolie.

“Yet the education for these children is often forgotten. Tens of millions of children and adolescents in conflict are not in school.”

Jewelry design may not be a totally alien arena to Pitt, 45, who has designed items for Italian jewelry brand Damiani in the past.

In the photo for People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta), Christian says, “Animals killed for their fur are electrocuted, drowned, beaten and often skinned alive. Please don’t wear fur.”

“I’ve always been opposed to slaughtering, eating, wearing carcass(es),” Christian said. “It’s just always seemed gross to me.”
